Next iteration – planned changes
Thankyou to those who have provided feedback and comments. A summary of the main changes that are planned for the next iteration are listed below:
To be included in First Edition
- Restructure book – to focus on Yoga Teacher Trainers.
- 108 key words section (Section 1 in ARC). Add in pronunciation cues for all terms. Flesh out the Asanas section. Structuring the order of the asanas, include thumbnail as a cue of what the posture looks like.
- Glossary (Section 3 in ARC). Remove or simplify the glossary of 500 words, listed in Devanagari order. Cut back scope to words that appear in the Patanjali Yoga Sutras. Check spellings words Sanskrit vs Hindi.
- Section 3 – Introduction to Sanskrit. Move Section ‘Sanskrit and Devanagari’ to the front. Flesh it out.
- Appendices – Strongly reduce the ‘about the author’ section, possibly move to a webpage
Changes for future editions
- A breakdown of individual terms used in the most key common mantras. Keeping full translations / meanings out of scope of the book.
- For the Asanas section – have a picture of the Asana being performed – rather than a sketched thumbnail.
Feedback form – thank you
If you have a copy of the book, even if you only have just a few minutes I would deeply appreciate your feedback! I want this book to be solidly grounded, but also accessible and informative.
If you could kindly fill out the following form it would really help me! Even if you have only picked up the book and flicked through it for a few minutes. Also, detailed responses are also welcome!
